Making connections
Why the personal touch still matters to Rachael Cone of Total Realty.
I usually use this column to share something informative about property or the market, but a recent story shared by one of our agents at Total Realty really struck a chord with me and may resonate with you, too.
In an industry increasingly driven by speed, automation and digital convenience, it’s easy to forget what truly sits at the heart of real estate: people. This story was a powerful reminder of that. After negotiating a contract late into the night, the agent drove across town to collect the final signature in person. It would have been quicker – and entirely acceptable – to send the documents digitally, as many agents do. But she chose otherwise.
As she left the property, she witnessed something she would never have seen via a digital document. By being there, she saw the sellers share a quiet hug. The sale of their home marked the end of one chapter and the beginning of another, and in that simple, unguarded moment, the significance of the transaction was unmistakable.
For our agent, that was the reward. Not the paperwork. Not the sale. But the human outcome. Buying or selling a home is rarely just a financial decision. It is often tied to family, change, memory and hope. While technology has made the process more efficient – and we embrace that where it adds value – there are moments that simply cannot be digitised.
We believe the personal touch still matters for anyone in business. For us, it shows up in late nights, extra conversations and being present when it counts. Because behind every property is a person, and those people deserve care. In a fast-moving world it’s worth remembering that efficiency is important, but connection is what people remember long after the sale is completed. So please feel welcome to contact the friendly team at Total Realty any time.
