Room service

Italian opulence

In its newest collection, Askö Design elevates the art of lounging with the Sienna modular sofa: refined yet sumptuous, sculpted in high-grade Italian leather.

The design lets you choose two modules for intimate conversation, or expand to four – incorporating an ottoman – to shape a living room tailored to your space. The clean linearity of the modules, paired with the lush colours (including this Forest Green), anchors any interior while inviting relaxed living.

The Sienna is both a centrepiece and a sanctuary, curating the experience of comfort and conversation.

FOUR TIPS FOR YOUR LOUNGE FROM KIM VAN DUIVEN, ASKÖ DESIGN:

CENTRE YOUR SOFA. If space allows, pull your sofa out from the wall to create a cosy, more conversational seating zone. This also allows traffic to flow around instead of through the space, helping define areas and balance a high ceiling or long room. Even leaving a few centimetres behind a sofa makes the layout feel more intentional than simply pushing it against the wall.

ADD FURNISHINGS. Anchor the sofa with a rug that extends beneath the front legs. It binds the area, even if furniture isn’t touching the walls. Soften the room with plants, lighting and your favourite pieces.

CONSIDER LIGHTING. Use lighting at various heights; include floor lamps and table lights to highlight zones and add ambience. Avoid relying solely on overhead lighting, which can feel harsh.

SKIP A COFFEE TABLE. Rather than dominate the centre with one big, heavy coffee table, assemble a small collection of tables like the Cadiz ensemble, pictured here. Their versatility allows them to be rearranged as needed, giving your lounge flexibility and visual lightness.
