WHAT IS DESIGNER RUGS?
Designer Rugs is an innovative company specialising in custom rugs and carpets. Working with influential fashion designers and artists, Designer Rugs is committed to creating stylish handmade rugs and carpets in any colour, design and size. We aim to always think outside the box.
We are renowned for our bold patterns, but we also have a large array of neutral textures and simpler tactile pieces. Rugs add an element of design to a space, as well as defining settings and anchoring furniture. We don’t see ourselves as a rug company; we see ourselves as a design company that makes rugs.

ARE ALL DESIGNER RUGS MADE OF WOOL?
Yes. Internationally renowned as the best wool in the world, the benefits of New Zealand wool are far superior to any other product: clean, green, high abrasion, inherent fire retardancy, soft with a long memory for greater bounce back, easy to clean, highly acoustic... I could go on.
Wool loves absorbing formaldehydes, so it even cleans your air. It is also highly sustainable. You shear the sheep, put him back out to pasture and he regrows his fleece. How good is that?
HOW ARE THE RUGS MADE?
Our premium quality wool is supplied by our South Island farms, sent to our mills for dyeing, and then each rug is handmade. Whether our rugs are hand-tufted or knotted, the process is a skill that has been passed down generationally through our weavers.

Our flagship Showroom is an experience in itself. Rugs adorn the walls like colossal art pieces and we have now opened our doors to showcase Ligne Roset furniture. The collaborated space is a visual feast, bringing both collections to life and helping clients to better visualise pieces in their home.
