These homeowners envisioned a master ensuite that embodied timeless elegance and a generous sense of space. The design had to complement and celebrate the traditional architectural character of their Christchurch home, incorporating classic detailing and enduring sophistication. A key requirement was the inclusion of their favourite colour, blue, within a scheme that delivered strong impact while maintaining luxury and comfort.
The design by Detail by Davinia Sutton centres on a striking custom tessellated tile floor. This distinctive feature establishes a strong visual identity while referencing the home’s architectural heritage. Paired with soft blue glazed brick-bond wall tiles, the flooring feels elegant rather than overpowering.
The custom-stained oak and honed stone vanity introduces warmth, personality and craftsmanship to the space, and the bath sits within a boxed window setting, creating a tranquil focal point and enhancing the sense of connection to the outdoors.
