At the heart of the design lies Flexiroof’s patented Tiny Arch system: a structural breakthrough that locks polycarbonate sheets in place without drilling, silicone or rubber seals. The result is a watertight, low-maintenance roofline that stays quiet in storms and flawless in the sun.
Each component is engineered for endurance. The main aluminium structure is extruded by McKechnie Aluminium in New Plymouth, New Zealand’s only fully integrated aluminium extruder and casthouse. Using 6061 T6 aluminium, a proven aerospace and marine-grade alloy, Flexiroof frames deliver exceptional strength-to-weight performance and corrosion resistance. McKechnie operates an onsite remelt, meaning that all production scrap is recycled. It’s a near 100 per cent circular operation, and its operations are certified by Toitu ̄ Carbon Reduce, ISO 14001, and Enviromark Diamond, confirming one of the lowest carbon footprints in the global aluminium industry.
This commitment to local manufacturing and sustainability underpins the entire system. From recycled aluminium and 316 stainless-steel fixings to UV-stable polycarbonate which is 15 times stronger than acrylic, every element is designed to perform beautifully and last for decades.
