TIPS FOR TILING SUCCESS

  1. For an experienced tiler, call the installation team at MO Tiles. It’s one thing to choose beautiful tiles, but if the installation goes badly, you will forever be analysing the mistakes rather than seeing the tiles.

  2. Pre-plan ahead of time with your tiler in conjunction with the other important trades on-site to decide what details you want in the room. For example, your soap recesses should line up with plumbing and grout lines to achieve a top result; the devil is in the detail.

  3. Once the tiles are down, they are there for a long time. We often see customers forgo their preferred choice for something cheaper, leaving them with a long-term regret. Let your tile store know your budget and the look you’d like to achieve.

  4. If you are struggling with colour or choices, don't be afraid to ask for help. The showroom staff at MO Tiles are all excellent at helping with an interior project's concepts and happy to help. The team can point out the pros and cons for you, helping to eliminate options that won't work and narrow down the choices.

  5. It's helpful to collect ideas of things you like and think will work. Pinterest is the perfect place to start.Make a board and use tile key words such as 'dark tiles', or 'contrasting tiles' for some inspiration.. This will help the showroom staff to understand your style and taste. Keep in mind, Pinterest and Google often bring up overseas products that may not be available here, but we will always do our best to find the closest match.

  6. Choose grout colours at the same time as you choose the tiles. Often, grout colours are left out of the equation when selecting tiles, but the grout is the finishing touch that makes a massive difference to the result.
