A sheltered life

A sheltered life

LouvreTec’s Marketing Manager, Mckenzie Collins, offers some valuable tips on how to increase the usability and enjoyment of your outdoor spaces.

What sets Louvretec apart from similar products on the market? As market leader in louvre systems throughout Australasia, we are constantly developing innovative ideas to remain at the forefront of an ever-evolving technological world.

What new innovations can customers expect to see? Our improved ‘down-under’ spiral pivot system is a unique invention that complements many of our automated products. The custom-made gearbox, driven by Somfy – the world’s leading tubular motor manufacturer – is completely hidden from view, providing an immaculately streamlined appearance. We’ve also invested in a new website – launching soon – which promises enhanced usability for customers and design tools for professional architects and designers.

At which point in the building process is it best to plan the integration of louvres? The earlier, the better. The construction of your deck or patio area will be greatly influenced by the type of LouvreTec product you choose, and will determine the type of structural frame required, whether you opt for an opening or a retractable roof. So, it certainly pays to consider the structural design, in conjunction with the type of louvres, during the planning process.

Can all louvres be retrofitted? All LouvreTec products can be adapted to suit, whether you are building from the ground up or embarking on a renovation. With a wide range of different styles, shapes, sizes and colours available, there’s something to suit all architectural styles, in both residential and commercial settings.

How can louvres increase the usability of outdoor living areas and increase property values? Whether you opt for an opening roof, a screen, balustrade, fence or complete outdoor room - complete with additional lighting and heating - LouvreTec offers many practical, economical and aesthetic benefits. Delivering privacy, security, shelter, style and exceptional value to any home, and transforming ‘dead’ zones into hubs for entertainment or relaxation – has never been easier.

New website, new design tools

LouvreTec has been busy building a brand new website, soon to launch over the coming months. While residential customers can expect improved usability and a beautiful contemporary design aesthetic, architects and designers can look forward to using the all-new 3D and 2D drawings library.
Design professionals will soon be able to add these drawings directly to their existing plans. Downloadable 3D rendered BIM and Revit compatible images will be available for LouvreTec systems, alongside 2D drawings depicting operational details, recommended fixing methods, tolerances and typical applications, with scope to customise colour and finish.
